Raanan Katz Jumped Up From The Lumber Yard

" I Can Jump Puddles," Alan Marshall
Long time ago I kept reading the book "I can jump puddles" by Alan Marshall till pages were almost worn out, but this part of Raanan Katz deposition, if placed in his biography book, could be called "Raanan Katz jumped up from the lumber yard".
Well, simply enjoy reading...while Raanan Katz enjoys paying  his attorneys' top rate (including smart attorney Todd Levine, Todd Levine, Todd Levine, Todd Levine, Todd Levine from Kluger, Kaplan, Katz, Silverman, Levine Miami based law firm).

"Attorney: Okay. Mr. Katz, have you ever been convicted of perjury?
Raanan Katz: The question is what you call perjury?
Attorney: What do you believe perjury means?
MR. KLUGER (Katz Attorney): The question can be answered yes or no.
Attorney: Excuse me.
Raanan Karz: If giving different answer on question number 8 is a perjury, then -- then I did. If this is not then I did not.
Attorney: Do you know what perjury means?
MR. KLUGER (Raanan Katz attorney): I'm going to seek a protective order. I don't want him to answer that. You know what my position is, the entire issue relating to Raanan Katz as a landlord in the Massachusetts Housing Court in 1978 will be the subject of the motion for protective order.
Raanan Katz: 34 years ago.
Attorney: So Mr. Katz's current understanding of what perjury is. For his purposes to answer questions today is not relevant? That's a yes or no question. Is it relevant for today?
MR. KLUGER (Raanan Katz attorney): Not relevant, but it's not my deposition. So -
Attorney: Right, it's mine. Yet somehow you believe that your testimony matters.
MR. KLUGER: No, I'm not testifying. I'm moving on for protective order. Ask your next line of questions. He's not answering any questions relating to a 1978 -
Attorney: I didn't ask him questions about a 1978 case. I asked him questions about perjury generally?
MR. KLUGER: No.
Attorney: That's not okay either?
MR. KLUGER: Ask your next question.
Attorney: Is that okay for me to ask?
MR. KLUGER: It's -- it's part of this 1978 proceeding and you know what is. Don't be a wise guy.
Attorney: Don't talk down to me.
Attorney: Mr. Katz, when were you born?
Raanan Katz: Where, in Israel.
Attorney: When were you born?
Raanan Katz:Is this related to what we're doing?
MR. KLUGER (raanan Katz attorney): No, excuse me, answer his question.
Raanan Katz: Okay.1936.
Attorney: What -- what month and day?
Raanan Katz: May 20.
Attorney: Where were you born?
Raanan Katz: In a kibbutz in Israel.
Attorney: Okay. And do you have any siblings?
Raanan Katz: Yes.
Attorney: How many?
Raanan Katz: Three brothers and one sister.
Attorney: Okay. Are they older or younger than you?
Raanan Katz: Younger.
Attorney: They're all younger than you?
Raanan Katz: Mm-hmm.
COURT REPORTER: Is that a yes?
Raanan Katz: Yes.
Attorney: Yeah, please, let's -- let's back up for -- since we're doing a deposition, please answer
all of your questions audibly. Don't shake your head up and down or left and right, even though it's -
there's a video, there's going to be a written record, and so I want to be able to understand exactly what you said and what you didn't say. If at any time you don't understand any of my questions, please ask me to repeat them. I'll gladly repeat them as many times as necessary so that you do understand what I'm asking. If at any time you need a break for any reason, to go to the bathroom, to get a drink or anything like that, by all means please say so. We'll gladly take a break for you. And that's it. Your -- how long did you live in Israel for?
Raanan Katz: Till early 20s.
Attorney: And then where did you go?
Raanan Katz: United States.
Attorney: Okay. Did you go by yourself?
Raanan Katz: Yes.
Attorney: When you came to the United States, where did you first go to?
Raanan Katz: Boston.
Attorney: And what did you do in Boston when you first got there?
Raanan Katz:Played basketball.
Attorney: Played basketball?
Raanan Katz: Yes.
Attorney: For a specific team?
Raanan Katz: Well, I tried out for -- for the Boston Celtics.
Attorney: And did you make it?
Raanan Katz: No, I didn't make it. I came together with John Haviicek and there was only 10 players that time and John Haviicek was ahead of me. So I had to go to another team.
Attorney: Okay. So what did you do?
Raanan Katz: What did I do? I played for another team and after that I -- I don't know. I went back to Boston a few months later and I worked for my uncle in a lumber yard."
